Posejdon with BREEAM "Excellent" Certificate!

The former 'Posejdon' was one of the most important city brands of Szczecin. Every citizen knew about this place and almost everyone has been visiting it. Today, 'Posejdon' is coming back in a new form to become a symbol of a contemporary, business aligned city - Marcin Woźniak, Member of the Management Board of Porto sp. z o.o. said. - We have created a multifunctional, green facility, which offers well designed office space, a congress centre necessary for Szczecin, prestigious hotels and well thought-out, modest retail section. This is an prime example of how the best facilities of this type in the world are built today. We wanted to create a complex with environment and customers in mind. Today we have confirmation that we managed to achieve this goal - 'Posejdon' received the "BREEAM International New Construction 2016" with an "Excellent" grade.

The BREEAM evaluation is based on ten different criteria: Management, Health and Well-being, Energy, Transport, Water, Materials, Waste, Land Use and Ecology, Pollution and Innovation. In each of these categories, a specific number of critical points to be met in order to apply for a certificate were identified, as well as a comprehensive list of additional requirements for which further points are awarded. Their sum decides about granting the certificate on a five-stage scale. The "Excellent" level achieved by "Posejdon" is the fourth stage, which confirms that the facility has met more than 70 percent of the strict guidelines of the British certification organisation. In the case of the Szczecin facility, the score reached exactly 80.3 percent. Only 4.7 percent of points were missing from the highest possible level of "Outstanding", which is still possible to reach as "Posejdon" will be re-audited after the construction is completed and the entire complex is put into operation. It is worth mentioning that this is the first building in Szczecin with such a high level of certification.

BREEAM certificate not only confirms that thanks to the application of many solutions reducing energy consumption, a building is environmentally friendly and economically efficient for its owner. Above all, it is a confirmation that the building was constructed according to the latest European norms and standards, thus ensuring the highest comfort of work for its users.

The JWA Company with its registered office in Cracow is responsible for consulting in the "Posejdon" certification process.
