Posejdon Center is widely recognised as one of the most pro-ecological buildings in Poland. Posejdon has earned its title thanks to the application of several innovative technological solutions, reducing CO2 emissions by 76%. It is also the largest low energy facility currently under development in Poland (Nearly Zero Emission Building - NZEB).
However, there is something that further distinguishes Posejdon from other competitive facilities and proves that business and ecology in its broadest sense can go hand in hand. It is the largest exterior living wall in Poland, with surface area of 150 m2, located within a public patio of the office part of the complex.
Our exquisite green wall was built by Hadart Polska Sp. z o.o. - a leading contractor of this type of installation in Poland. The base is the Fytotextile modular system from Terapia Urbana, which is waterproof, low-inflammatory and provides proper vegetation conditions for plants.
In special pockets a total of about 6500 plants were planted (over 43 plants per m2), including evergreen species - Japanese pachysandra, periwinkles, woolly hedgenettles, phloxes, ferns, bergenias, sedges, liriopes; partially evergreen species - woodrushes, cranesbills, as well as flowering species - bellflowers, coral bells, storksbills and white. Plant species were selected based on the analysis of wall exposure to sunlight and changes in daylight.
We are convinced that our green wall will be one of the Posejdon's attractions, so that the public patio, in which it is located, will soon become a favorite meeting place for Szczecin's residents and tourists visiting our city.
